Student Activity Professionals know that one of the things that keeps them going year after year is a support network of other like-minded individuals who appreciate the importance and value of Student Activities in establishing and maintaining a strong and vibrant school community. Sharing ideas, reaching out when issues arise, and just the camaraderie of people who know the importance of developing student leaders through activity participation all contribute to longevity in their positions.

A golden opportunity to build that network and learn some new skills to get the school year off to a good start is the NA4SA Summer Workshop, which will be hosted this year by the Minnesota Association of Student Leaders (MASL) on Saturday August 15, 2026.  The theme of this year's Summer Workshop is "S'more Leadership", contributing to the professional growth of Student Activity Professionals from a wide range of backgrounds. Veteran advisors and experts in the field of Student Activities will be sharing some of their resources and ideas that you can bring back, adapt for your own use, and implement on DAY ONE. Our goal is to offer the resources you need to provide a more rewarding leadership experience to your student leaders - and a more rewarding advising experience to YOU!

To keep the experience affordable and allow participation for advisors from across the country, the clinic will be held virtually through Zoom from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern time. With sessions that appeal to all types of activity advisors – clubs, class council, student council, leadership class, and more – attending our Summer Workshop is a great way to get "S'more Leadership" NOW to ensure a successful start to the school year for veterans and beginners alike!

The MASL hosting team and NA4SA Board member Trisha Bemboom are now working to finalize a hands-on, interactive, practical, and inspirational program. Be sure to watch upcoming issues of A Parade of Ideas (our official newsletter) for updates and teasers!
